With 35 years of service, Mrs. Heaton has been a steadfast advocate for students, staff, and school counseling programs across Berkeley County. Starting her career as an English and French teacher at Hedgesville High, she later transitioned to a school counselor role, and then on to Director of Academic Counseling, where her unwavering commitment to doing what’s best for students and school counselors has left a lasting impact.
Mrs. Heaton is a true role model, supporting and empowering school counselors while ensuring BCS meets and exceeds state standards for school counseling. Her passion, attention to detail, and organizational skills have been instrumental in building the strong, comprehensive school counseling program we’re proud to have today.
