Jacqueline (Jackee) Long began her Berkeley County Schools career as school secretary with Bunker Hill and Gerrardstown Elementary in 1974. Throughout her 40 years in education, Jacqueline served as district executive secretary, coordinator of service personnel in the Human Resources Department, Service Personnel Professional Development Coordinator and managed the sick leave and incentive leave programs, prior to her retirement in 2014. Jacqueline joined the Board of Education in the spring of 2021 and was elected to a 4-year term, effective July 1, 2022.

During her tenure in Berkeley County, Jacqueline guided the 2005 launch of the Tri-County Institute -- an opportunity for service personnel to explore training and professional development. Jacqueline also took an active leadership role at the state level, serving a 12-year term as the West Virginia School Service Personnel Association president from 2002 - 2014. During this time, she participated in various West Virginia Department of Education task forces with a focus on early childhood classroom teacher assistant certification, attendance and staff professional development. Jacqueline was instrumental in the development of the West Virginia School Service Personnel of the Year Award and has served on many WVDE committees.

A life-long resident of Berkeley County, Jacqueline has served as a member of the Eastern Panhandle Transit Authority board, a member of the Berkeley County Public Schools Federal Credit Union board and a member of the Reconnecting McDowell board. She is currently a regional co-director for the West Virginia School Board Association and the vice president of the WVU-East Medicine Board of Directors.

Active in her community, Jacqueline is a member of the Second Baptist Church and holds the position of church clerk, assistant treasurer and trustee among other positions. She currently resides in Martinsburg, WV.
