BERKELEY COUNTY, WV (WOWK) – A school counselor in the Mountain State is being recognized for her outstanding commitment to the students she serves.
Jodie Williams, school counselor at Opequon Elementary in Berkeley County has been named the 2025 School Counselor of the Year. She is being celebrated for going above and beyond and working tirelessly to ensure her students feel supported both in and out of the classroom.
“We are here for you. We are your community. We spend most of their waking hours together with them in the school environment,” Williams says of the role of a school counselor. “We are here to help you, whether it’s school work, academically, socially, emotionally, and even with career planning. But we are here. We are part of that village. That’s what we’re here for.”
