Thanks to your generous support of the November 2022 Bond Call, Waldeck Field at Denny Price Stadium is getting some much-needed TLC this summer!

Last week, Superintendent Ron Stephens, MuHS Administration, coaches, and players broke ground on the school's brand-new artificial turf field and track reconstruction, which will support upgrades to this facility used by the football, soccer, and track teams, the band, and beyond!

Here are a few unique historical facts about Waldeck Field:

  • September 29, 1950: First football game vs. Shepherdstown

  • November 23, 1974: Musselman's football team under head coach Denny Price wins its first state championship over the former Hamlin High School

  • 1986: MuHS band hosts inaugural Tournament of Bands competition

  • 1994-1995: Field named in honor of coach and principal Kenneth Waldeck

  • 2013: Stadium named in honor of 40-year head coach Denny Price

Thank you, Waldeck Field, for supporting athletics and extracurricular activities for over 70 years! We will cherish the memories made here forever!

Construction is expected to be completed at the end of the summer. We can't thank you enough, Berkeley County, for your commitment to supporting our schools and students!
