BERKELEY COUNTY — Berkeley County Schools continues to highlight students in its Work Exploration program.

Through this program, schools partner with local business owners and managers to give students the opportunity to learn about different careers and find a job that they can do in the future. The program started in 2007 at Martinsburg High School and has continued to grow ever since.

Every month, Berkeley County Schools recognizes some of the students participating in the program. Recently, it highlighted Keishaun Price, David Crosen, Shariff Williams and Ronan Daly.

Price is a student at Musselman High School. He has been a part of the Work Exploration program for two years and has worked at Food Lion, D&D Meats and Cider Press Grill. At Cider Press, Price learned how to be a waiter and serve guests by taking their orders and bringing them their food. He is a hard worker, both at work and at school, as he also plays for the Musselman boys basketball team.

“He always takes his work seriously and tries his best to do the tasks at each job right the first time,” Berkeley County Schools wrote in Price’s bio. “At each job, Keishaun never needs to be prompted to do any task and always has a positive attitude. Once he is shown how to do something once, he gets right to work.”

Crosen is a junior at Hedgesville High School. Throughout the two years he’s participated in the Work Exploration program, he’s worked at Jersey Mike’s and Dunkin’ Donuts.

Crosen is known for his positive and bright personality that makes his co-workers’ and guests’ days a bit better. He started working seasonally at Old Navy, where he helps customers find the clothes they are looking for.

From Martinsburg High School, Williams has worked at Tractor Supply and a construction site. He’s learned a lot through the program and is known for being reliable and dependable.

“Shariff is always willing to do whatever is asked of him,” Berkeley County Schools wrote in his bio. “He always has a smile and a great sense of humor. Anyone that hires Shariff would hit the jackpot.”

Daly, from Spring Mills High School, is in his first year of the program. He’s worked at the Spring Mills McDonald’s, where he has shown his dedication and positive attitude.

In addition to serving customers, Daly cleans and does other extra tasks that need to get done. Even though he’s only been in the program for a year, his upbeat attitude has left a good impression on those he’s worked with.
