The NCAA does not accept ACT/SAT test scores that are reported on a high school transcript. Your scores must be reported directly from the testing agency. It is recommended that you add the NCAA as a score recipient when you register for a test to ensure the reports will be sent free of charge. The NCAA code is 9999 for both the SAT and ACT. Scores can still be reported after completing a test for a fee.​

NCAA registration will take up to 45 minutes. It is required that you be certified by the NCAA Eligibility Center to compete at a DI or DII school and to sign a National Letter of Intent or go on an official visit. Use this checklist to help gather all of the information you will need to complete your registration. It will currently cost $90 for US students and $150 for international students. The cost is subject to change.

The NCAA Eligibility center requires transcripts from your high school at the time of registration and after you graduate. Requests for an SMHS transcript go through parchment. Once you establish your account, the destination you request will be the NCAA Eligibility Center. You will need to request your transcripts at least twice, first when you register and again after you graduate.

NCAA academic requirements for eligibility differ greatly from Berkeley County Schools' graduation requirements where more credits/classes are required to graduate from BCS than to be eligible for NCAA competition. Be sure that when you use the worksheet you are remembering that you will need additional courses to graduate. The NCAA explains at length the process of determining academic eligibility.
