National Honor Society

National Honor Society is a national organization that promotes and recognizes character, scholarship, service and leadership in students.

Each spring, potential new members are contacted based upon cumulative grade point averages. Juniors and Seniors with at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA are notified of their eligibility to apply and the application process is explained in a group meeting. Please be aware that the time to begin preparation is upon enrollment for transfer in or upon becoming a freshman.  Scholarship, Leadership, Character, and Service both in school and the community are the values examined to determine acceptance.

Please review the following SMHS Chapter information thoroughly and discuss the content with your student and/or parent/guardian.
