Attendance
Attendance is critical, especially at the Primary level. Having your child attend school every day will set them up with success starting in Kindergarten.

Overview of WAE Attendance
Winchester Avenue Elementary wants to ensure all of our students are successful. We take pride in having good attendance, so our students are able to learn and develop into strong leaders, citizens of outstanding character, and lifelong learners. Being at school every day is what helps students succeed because when students are not in school, they are not learning.
School Counselor Role with Attendance:
The school counselor at WAE helps to monitor the everyday attendance of our students. They are knowledgeable about the attendance policies and systems to better help parents and guardians. As part of our goal to increase our attendance the school counselor reaches out to families whose student is either struggling with attendance or has missed many unexcused days of school. When the school counselor reaches out to a family about attendance it is to check-in with the family to see if they need any assistance or resources.
