Several NMS teachers in front of the AMLE banner at the AMLE conference this week.

Several North Middle School teachers had the opportunity to extend their knowledge at the Association for Middle Level Education 50th anniversary conference in National Harbor, Maryland! Mr. Barclay (Unified Arts), Ms. Kyker (8th grade), Mr. Jackson (7th grade), Mr. Malcolm (6th grade), and Mr. Lam (administration) all had the opportunity to participate in workshops and breakout sessions designed with the middle-schooler in mind.

Topics Included:

The Successful Middle School - Exploring essential middle grades concepts and best practice in action.

Early Career Educators - Supporting the next generation of educators with the tools and strategies you need for a productive classroom.

A Middle Level Education Policy Agenda - Exploring a cohesive policy agenda to support a bright future for middle level education.

The Changing Young Adolescent - Understanding and supporting today’s tweens toward personal and academic success.

All of our teachers gained incredible knowledge that they will get to bring back to the entire NMS community of educators! We are excited to hear what they learned and begin to implement these new ideas!
