Students Arriving Late or Leaving Early

We understand that emergencies and other unexpected events may arise during the school day. However, we ask that parents make every effort to get their child to school on time, and to limit the instances of an early dismissal.

Tardy Students:

• Students arriving after  8:45 am will be considered tardy. 

• If arriving after 8:45 am, you will need to do the following:

  • Pull up to the front doors of the school in our bus loop

  • Call the front office at (304) 267-3565 and state the following:

    • your name

    • the child’s name

    • their homeroom teacher’s name

    • whether or not they will need to eat a school breakfast.

• A staff member will greet your child at the front door and escort them to their classroom.

Students Leaving Early:

• Students leaving prior to 2:45 will have an early dismissal on their attendance record. This may also be considered a half-day absence depending on the time of dismissal.

• Please send a note in to your child’s teacher indicating that the student will be picked up early, and identify the name of the person picking up the child.

• You will need to do the following:

  • Pull up to the front doors of the school in our bus loop

  • Call the front office at (304) 267-3565 and state the following:

    • your name

    • the child’s name

    • their homeroom teacher’s name

    • whether or not the child will be returning to school that day

• A staff member will bring your child to the front door of the school where they will enter the vehicle.

• Please have your picture ID visible to the staff member through the window of the vehicle.  All parents/relatives will be asked for ID before the child can be released.
