Junior R.O.T.C.

Interested in joining the military after high school? Try taking Junior R.O.T.C. while you're in high school! The J.R.O.T.C. Program focuses on instilling elements of good citizenship, strong leadership, character development, and an appreciation for military traditions. The Berkeley County J.R.O.T.C. program is led by the Air Force.

ASVAB

Available for students in 10th, 11th, or 12th grade.

The ASVAB, or Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery. measures a student's strengths and weaknesses in the areas of mathematics, verbal and English, occupations, and military eligibility. The ASVAB provides information on various careers and military occupations. The ASVAB is typically offered once during the fall semester at Musselman High School. ROTC at College

Having trouble choosing between college and the military?  Why not do both! Enrolling in R.O.T.C. while in college will help pay for tuition, room and board, books, and more.  Not only that, but it can put you on the fast track to serve as a leader in the military after you graduate.

What Does R.O.T.C. At College Involve?

Joining R.O.T.C. in college means you will attend some extra classes to gain the tools, training, and experience to be a successful college student and military leader. It also means that you will get a scholarship to pay for your college tuition. After graduation, you have the opportunity to serve as an officer in the military and work in a military career.

The armed forces service academies are among the most prestigious institutions in the country. Getting into an academy earns you a college education free of cost, as well as leadership training. If you have a goal of entering a military academy, you need to start now!  

Though the official application process does not begin until your junior year of high school, there are many steps you can take now to make sure you are on the right track and have what it takes to get into one of these elite academies.
