After recent storm damage forced the removal of old trees in front of the school, students at Hedgesville Middle School rolled up their sleeves and planted new ones in honor of the school's former principals with the help of the Cacapon Institute!

Two new October Glory maple trees were dedicated in honor of Mr. Gary W Greenfield, principal from 1976 to 2003, and Mr. Charles R. Scott, principal from 2003 to 2008.

The trees will beautify the school's campus for generations to come, and symbolize the strong foundation Mr. Greenfield and Mr. Scott built at HMS!
