Our Mission

The Division of Operations ensures that the foundational services—Transportation, Facilities & Maintenance, Child Nutrition & Wellness, Information Technology, Human Resources, and Purchasing—run smoothly and efficiently, supporting Berkeley County Schools’ mission to deliver high-quality education for all students.

 We are committed to enhancing the systems that support our schools so that every child and educator can thrive while fostering collaboration across departments, streamline operations, and optimize resources—ensuring a seamless learning environment for our entire community.

Operational Departments

Child Nutrition & Wellness

  • Oversees meal planning, food services, and wellness programs that support student health and readiness.

Facilities & Maintenance

  • Ensures safe, clean, and functional school environments through preventive maintenance, repairs, infrastructure planning, and construction projects.

Human Resources

  • Handles recruitment, staff certification, benefits, professional development, employee relations and other employment related matters.

Information Technology

  • Manages district technology infrastructure, including network support, hardware maintenance, and system implementation for staff and students.

Purchasing

  • Leads procurement processes, vendor relations, and ensures compliance with policy for district-wide supplies, equipment, and services.

Transportation

  • Coordinates bus routes, driver operations, vehicle maintenance, and other district transportation services.
