Students with new amp

Friends of Music has given Spring Mills Middle School a $300 grant to help with the purchase of a new, 500-watt Hartke Kickback bass amplifier for the school's band program.

Band director Jordan English, who requested the grant, said the amplifier will allow students to explore a wide range of music styles and techniques, as well as give bass players a voice in the band.

"This new amp is a game-changer for our program," he said. "It opens up many possibilities for our students to dive deeper into jazz and other styles of music. They now have the tools to experience and perform with greater clarity and precision."

The Spring Mills Middle School Jazz Ensemble is in its second year and ready to perform at local jazz festivals and events like Christmas in the Park at War Memorial Park in Martinsburg.

Thank you, Friends of Music for continuously supporting our young musicians!
